Architecture and Coverage

The diagram below shows the GEONETCast-Americas system architecture. At the left side, we have the system Data Providers sending content through FTP directly to the system uplink server located at Ellenwood, Georgia, USA. There, the data is processed (encapsulated and modulated) in order to be uplinked to the INTELSAT-21 (IS-21) satellite at 58 W, which rebroadcast the data at 4080 MHz all over the Americas.

Please note that apart from the Data Providers, at the left side we have other GEONETCast Systems (like EUMETCast) which also have a direct connection to the GEONETCast-Americas servers, monitored by NOAA.
